Open Face Chinese Poker is without a doubt the most fun poker game full of action that every player would enjoy. So why don‘t they? The answer is simple – lack of information and knowledge of how to play it and what strategies to use to beat the opponents. The Chinese poker strategy majorly revolves around how you play your hand and prevent your players from excavating you. The very basic Chinese poker strategy is the need of mathematics to calculate all the possible hands you could hold and all the possible hands that your opponent would. It would be really advantageous for you. In general Open Face Chinese is a very simple game to learn – you need to complete three poker hands of five cards in the bottom, another five in the middle and three cards up top. The key is for your bottom hand to be stronger than the middle one and the top hand of three cards to be the weakest of them all in order to complete a full OFC hand.

First off, sorry for taking such a long time between posts. I have had a lot going on and havent been involved in the Chinese Open Face App after I sold my portion. I do plan to continue posting about the game however, and the big shift over to Pineapple OFC has changed the strategy in the game dramatically.
The best advise I can give for playing Pineapple is BE AGGRESSIVE! You have to set your hands to play for Fantasy Land any chance you get. I am still working on figuring out the odds (this is much more complicated that regular OFC) but your chances of covering an early run at Fantasy Land are much better than you would think if you have been playing regular OFC. For example, you are dealt 772KK. In standard OFC, you would easily set your hand with KK77 in the back and the 2 in the middle or up top. In Pineapple, you must set your hand 772 in the back and KK in the middle to try and get a chance at Fantasy Land.

When I first started playing, I would set this hand like this: x / 8 8 3 / A J. Setting it this way allows you to draw to a flush or high pair in the back, and sets a mid pair in the middle. Ideally, you would end up with some kind of Two Pair+ on the bottom, Two Pair in. In place of the bets, points are utilized to score in the game. Once the cards are dealt, you divide them into top hand (3 cards arrangement), middle hand (5 cards arrangement), and the bottom hand (5 cards arrangement). The same is done by every player in this this game (which can be played between 2 to 4 players).

Similarly, if you have Q up top, K45 in the middle, and JJ8 in the back, and then draw QXX, you should place the Q on top and go for fantasy land. You are drawing to 2 pair or trips in the back, and then either KK or two pair with 4s and 5s in the middle. Picking 2/3 for two more draws, you get to look at 6 more cards to improve your hand. Think of it as implied odds as you do in holdem. If you hit Fantasy Land, you have a chance to really win big!
